“Even better the old man has some of the Bro’s over”, Trent says with a grin as Todd pulls in behind Matt’s Chevy truck.
The old man was talking shit again as usual and by the look of the rounds he was well on his way.
“Hey punk, hows the Trumpy that you won’t get going”, Rat laughs sarcastically at Trent.
Todd cringes because he knows that Trent is going to wind his old man up bit-by-bit and then drop the clanger on him for a reaction.
“Yea I think I might have the right wrench to fix it, don’t you think Todd? Trent said with a cheesy grin.
Todd nods.

Matt is one of the old man’s oldest friends and Trent pulls up a chair next to him. Todd is roped into what the other Bro's were doing with the old man in the shed so Trent takes the opportunity to do some probing about the old man's bike.
“Tell me about the bike days Matt? Trent asks out of the blue.
Matt looks at Trent with suspicion with a surprise on his face like he had just been slapped in the face with a fish.
“You’re too nosey boy so don't even go there!
“Just askin”, Trent replies.
“So who’s this wrench I hear you found for the Trumpy? .
“This fat biker bitch at the Halls got me onto this other chick who knows a wrench, she’s giving me a quote tonight after she has a good look at it”
“I knew this wrench once, we called her “Sticks”, Matt tells Trent sculling back his beer.
Trent looked at Matt with a puzzled look and told him what happened with the bike and what this chick Jackie said.
Matt went white and his eyes went wide.
“Describe her boy?
“Tall, blonde and not bad looking! Trent tells Matt.
Matt scratches his beard and takes a deep breathe.
“You say she is calling you tonight about the bike? Matt asks Trent.
“Yes in about an hour Bro”, Trent replies.
“Trent, did she take the casing cover off and look at the tank paintwork by any chance?, Matt asks.
“Fuck are you psychic or what, yeah man she did, she said the bike was “Rat’s bike too so what the fuck is going on!
“Holy mother of mercy, it is Sticks! Matt gets up and paces  the floor.
“This can’t be right, Sticks is dead boy and you ask me what the hell is going on here?  Now are you sure boy that this woman said that it was Rat’s Bike?  How did she react when she realised who’s bike it was Trent?

Matt was really spinning out and freaking Trent out and he didn’t know what to think.
“She went white like you did Bro, so you going to tell me what the fuck is going on? Trent demands.

Matt sighs and rubs his face.

“Sticks was our wrench in the bike racing days and she raced that bike because she was the lightest. It was the Nationals and on the big day she went wide to get around for one of her famous finishes when one of the rival riders deliberately cut her off sending her off the track. Actually there was three of them.  She slid the bike hanging onto it so it wouldn’t get too much damage after she hit the Wall”, Matt says with a blank look and closed eyes as he recalls that day like it is yesterday.
Trent was quite blown away by the news.
“The bike wasn’t damaged too bad actually and it was Sticks and this other rider that got hurt real bad. Your old man blamed himself because she died, well that’s what we were told by the sounds so I am not sure what is going on Trent.

Matt got up and pulled open one of the draws. He rummages around in the draw and pulls out the Rat bike album. He flicks through the pages and shows Trent the pics with Sticks.
“Is that her boy? Matt points to the photo.
“Fuck hell yea man, that’s her! Trent says with a grin.
Matt closed the book and put it back in the draw, scratching his beard.
“So the wrench has her fucking bike back I don’t believe it! Now isn't that fate! Matt laughs as the shock subsides.

“That's my fucking bike thanks, she’s just the wrench! Trent firmly says to Matt like you can get that idea out of your head.
“You know what I mean boy, well if Sticks has the bike, you can be damn sure she will have it running in no time so don't sweat it”, Matt says and indicates they better join the old man.
“Matt, is that why he is like he is? Trent asks.
“Some what but it goes deeper so don’t you go telling your old man that Sticks is alive let alone that she is the wrench fixing that bike! Matt says as he gives him the look that he means it.

The place was rocking out in the shed and Matt was giving Todd shit as they walk in the door. The old man puts this music on that he plays all the time, god knows where he got it from but it wasn’t bad Trent thought. It was a clear indication that he had a few under this belt.

Trent looks over to the old man as he gives him a wink. Trent hears his cell phone ringing but Rat picks up the  phone to answer it. He glances over to Trent with a grin as he yells out that some broad named Jackie was on the phone for Trent. Trent looks at Matt and then back over at his old man as he walks over to take the phone off him. Trent looked at his old man as he talks to Jackie about the bike.
“Yo Todd who’s this broad Jackie chasing my kid? Trent hears his old man yell out to Todd.

Trent gave Matt the panic look and to go shut Todd up before he says something look but it was too late. Trent tells Jackie he would ring her in the morning as he had an emergency.
 Todd is half cut and his mouth is running away with him, “The wrench fixing Trent’s bike Rat and she said she knew the Trumpy too!.
Matt could have killed him but the old man caught Trent throwing an empty can at Todd from across the room with a real pissed off look.
“Don’t worry about it Dad, Todd’s talking shit again! Trent says hoping that it would be a big enough hint for Todd.

“Bit of alright is she Todd? The old man winks at him as Matt and Trent cringe.

“Yea if you’re about forty and into Blondes, be more  like your type Rat! Todd tells him as he laughs his head off.
Trent could see his old man’s brain ticking over and knew any second it was going to be all over. Matt knew it too as he heads for the fridge for another beer away from the firing line.

“What do you mean boy that she knew it was my fucking bike? Rat blurts back at him.
“She said it was your bike! Todd replies as Trent moves over towards Matt as they watch the penny drop with the Ratman.
“The shit is going to hit the fan any second boy”, Matt whispers to Trent. You want your truth about him then watch this as I better get Todd out of the firing line.
“Rat come over here Bro, got something to tell you”. Matt says with a smile.
Rat looks at Matt and Trent and knows he isn’t going to like this.
He had that pissed off look again. Trent gives Todd the back off look for your own good.
“Yea Bro what you got to tell me that I need to hear?
Rat looks him squarely in the eyes and waits for him to speak.
Trent freaks as he watches their eyes lock and stay locked.
“You know how you always said you didn’t believe that Sticks was dead Bro?
Trent watched his old man nod but with little reaction.
“Yea well I believe you Bro and I just want to apologise for not believing like you said because your bike is with Sticks as we speak and she’s alive Bro!

Trent watched his facials as it hit home and how he looks to Matt to make sure that it isn't some sort of sick joke. Matt is nodding and says to him, “It is Jackie and you just talked to her Bro, it’s Trent’s wrench man for the Trumpy!
Trent shrugs his shoulders at his father and smiles like I didn't fucking know man.
“I don’t want to talk about this right now and walks off.
“Shit is he going to be okay Matt? Trent asks.
“Leave it to me you just get that Hogbitch to get the old Tiger running like the wind again Bro, that bike has history boy”, Matt tells him as he hands him another beer.
“Matt was she really called the Hogbitch back then? Asks Trent.
“Yea we gave the nickname too her because she earnt that title on the track. She might have been the only broad on the track but she sure showed the Brothers she had balls” Matt smiles.

"You leave your old man to me huh, this is not your business an' you say Hi to Sticks for me when you see her okay Trent! as Matt clicked his beer bottle on Trents.
