Harley-Davidson 1974 XL Sportster

First introduced in 1957, the Sportster is now the longest-running production motorcycle in the world. It was a development of the Model-K, which was introduced in 1952 in order to compete with the faster and easier-handling British bikes of the time. With the stripped down look, the Sportster was designed for speed and 'fast fun'. Before 1972, the Sportster had an 883 cc engine, which gave it 45 horsepower. This increased to 61 horsepower when it was fitted with a more powerful 1000 cc engine. This bike is one of the 1000 cc models.
