Model 1918 18F Harley-Davidson

The engine of the 18F is based on the classic V-Twin 45 degree that Harley-Davidson first made in 1909. That classic engine featured two cylinders standing at a 45 degree angle to form a 'V' shape, and gave Harley-Davidson the distinctive look and sound that they still have today.

This bike was specially completed for this exhibition, and has been restored to its exact 1918 condition. Olive green was the standard colour for most Harley-Davidson motorcycles from 1917 until the 1930's. Most of the motorcycle is reconstructed from one particular bike. The parts to restore the bike were found by the restorer in two different Hawkes Bay locations, ten years apart.
